Date: 2020-03-14 02:49 pm (UTC)Description: A 1945 radio play for US troops in WWII featuring Hollywood stars. Command Performance was a radio show for the troops, but this particular episode is probably the most famous and is a stand alone.
Comments: I somehow got a CD of this when I was a kid and I fell in love and listened to it all the time. It's just a bunch of ridiculousness with some parody songs thrown in for fun. It's not what I would call a GREAT script, but there are still lines in it that I think of all the time. And for lovers of old school cinema and music it's fun to play spot the performer. Plus it's something a bit different so it's also kind of fascinating as a historical artifact.
